Semester at Sea is an educational non-profit which offers a unique study abroad program. Since 1963, this non-profit organization has dedicated themselves to the development of global underÂstanding through life-changing international experiences. Semester at Sea presented several challenging opportunities through the course of the project: the development of several custom flash applications; a number of different audiences that would use the site; and the ability to update the site from anywhere in the world to name a few.
This project began under a PM that I managed at Category4 who left prior to the completion of the project. After his departure there was quite a struggle to collaborate and negotiate with SAS’s large team over the period of a year, as the board switched directions on us once the site had been nearly completed.
The end result is a site that I’m fairly proud of. The interactive voyage maps, and navigation for the various audiences are particular favorites.
